Report illegal content
Last updated: 2026-05-20
Livebooks provides this channel for anyone — users and non-users — to notify the operator of content that they consider unlawful under EU or national law, in accordance with Article 16 of Regulation (EU) 2022/2065. Notices submitted through this channel that meet the requirements below are deemed to provide actual knowledge for the purpose of Article 6 of the Regulation.
What this channel is for
Use this channel to report content that you consider illegal — including defamation, identity violations, incitement to violence or hatred, harassment, fraud or scam content, privacy or image-rights violations, or any other content that you believe contravenes Italian or EU law. For specific procedures use the dedicated channels:
- Intellectual-property infringement (copyright, trademark) → DMCA / Copyright Policy
- Material that sexually exploits minors → contact your local authorities (in Italy: Polizia Postale at commissariatodips.it). You may ALSO notify Livebooks via this channel; doing so does not replace mandatory reporting to the authorities.
Information your notice must include
Under Article 16(2) of Regulation (EU) 2022/2065, your notice must contain the following elements. Sufficient detail in each makes the notice actionable; missing or vague items may delay or prevent action.
- A reasoned explanation of why you consider the content to be illegal, with reference to the specific provision of law you believe is being violated.
- A clear indication of the exact location of the content (the URL of the page on Livebooks, and if applicable the paragraph or section).
- Your name and a valid email address, unless your notice concerns offences referred to in Articles 3 to 7 of Directive 2011/93/EU (offences concerning the sexual abuse and sexual exploitation of children and child pornography), in which case anonymous notices are accepted.
- A statement confirming your good-faith belief that the information and allegations in the notice are accurate and complete.
What happens after you send the notice
Upon receipt of a notice that meets the requirements above, Livebooks will (i) acknowledge receipt to the email address you provided; (ii) review the notice in a diligent, non-arbitrary and objective manner; (iii) take an appropriate action — which may be removal, restriction of access, account suspension, or no action if the notice is unfounded; (iv) notify you of the decision and its reasons in accordance with Article 17 of the Regulation. The affected user, if any, also receives a statement of reasons and may submit an internal complaint under Article 20.
